Set aside half an hour for a longer sit

This 30-minute meditation timer is for a session you have planned space for: a quiet weekend morning, an evening practice, or time between other commitments. It starts at 30:00. Set your sounds before beginning so you can leave the controls alone while you practice.

Decide on your practice before you start

Choose one familiar anchor, such as your natural breath or the contact of your body with the chair. You do not need to change techniques whenever attention wanders. Keep water nearby if you want it, silence notifications, and choose a seat that lets you move comfortably.

Two ways to structure thirty minutes

  • One uninterrupted sit: Turn interval chimes off. Spend the opening moments settling, stay with your anchor, and let the ending bell bring the session to a close.
  • Six five-minute sections: Enable the five-minute interval. At each reminder, gently check your posture and return to the practice. The chime is a cue, not a deadline or a score.

If you lose track of time, you can leave that uncertainty alone and wait for the bell. If you need to look, the countdown remains available; use whichever approach feels manageable.

Return to the day gradually

When the session ends, notice your surroundings before reaching for your next task. Move your hands and feet and stand when you are ready. There is no requirement to finish feeling calm or to write down a result.

Questions about the 30-minute timer

Will I hear a chime halfway through?

With the five-minute interval selected, reminders play every five minutes, including at fifteen minutes. This is a repeating interval, not a separate halfway-only setting.

Can I use it for silent practice?

Yes. Set the bell to None, intervals to None and background sound to Silence. The countdown still runs.

What if I need to stop before thirty minutes?

Use the pause or end controls at any time. Ending early is allowed; the timer does not track streaks or penalize shorter sessions.
