Make room for a ten-minute routine

A ten-minute session fits before checking your inbox, into a lunch break, or between the end of work and the rest of your evening. This timer opens at 10:00 and lets you practice without spoken instructions. Choose optional bells, interval reminders, or background sound, then press Begin when you are ready.

A 10-minute practice in three parts

Choose a comfortable seat and put your phone or computer somewhere you will not need to watch it. You can keep your eyes softly open. This is a suggested structure, not an instruction to control your breathing.

  1. Minutes 1–2: Settle in. Notice your posture and the support beneath you. Relax any effort you do not need to hold your position.
  2. Minutes 3–8: Stay with a simple anchor. Notice your natural breathing. If counting helps, count each exhale from one to ten, then begin again. When you lose track, return to one without treating it as a mistake.
  3. Minutes 9–10: Widen your attention. Include sounds in the room and the feeling of your hands or feet. Let the ending bell mark a gradual return to the day.

Use a halfway reminder if you want one

Select the five-minute interval for a reminder halfway through this session. You can use that chime to notice your posture and return to your breath, rather than check how much time is left. Choose no intervals if reminders interrupt your practice. Optional brown noise is available if you prefer a steady background sound.

Keep the routine easy to return to

Choose a repeatable cue, such as finishing your morning coffee or closing your laptop after work. Bookmark this page so ten minutes is ready next time. On a busy day, the five-minute timer is another option; you do not need to make up missed sessions.

Questions about the 10-minute timer

Is this a guided 10-minute meditation?

No. The timer does not narrate instructions. You can follow the outline above, use a practice you already know, or simply sit quietly until the bell.

Should I choose five or ten minutes?

Choose the time that fits your schedule and feels manageable. Five minutes works for a short pause; ten leaves more room to settle and continue. A longer duration is not a requirement.

Can I change the time or pause?

Yes. Before starting, select a preset to open its timer page, or enter 1 to 180 minutes and press Begin. Use the on-screen pause control during your session. On a keyboard, Space pauses or resumes and Esc ends the session.

Can I put my phone away during the session?

Yes. After you press Begin, mobile audio continues with your screen locked, so you can put your phone aside for the ten minutes. Leave the timer tab open until you finish. Read the mobile playback instructions.
